2009 Conference - 2nd to 4th October 2009

The week that was - Focus on our 2009 annual conference

From the Pastor’s desk

Praise the Lord Saints of the Most High God! What an awesome time we had in the presence of God- The word came forth powerfully, the word of knowledge so sharp and indeed, tangible creative miracles- it was indeed a power packed atmosphere for miracles. From all walks of life, people gathered together in Swindon to be part of this wonderful experience, an unforgettable moment. The word of God promises that where two or three will be gathered in his name, there he will be in their midst and God’s glorious presence changed the atmosphere into a joyous occasion.

The “ites” of your life

The meetings kicked off on a high on Friday evening, and by the end of the session, we were all left gasping for more of the word and air to breath, for the word came forth powerfully, prophetically and full of humour. Delivered in Simplicity, Pastor Raphael brought the word to another dimension of understanding, giving deep insights into the typological significance of the enemies who faced Israel as they approached the Promised Land, and how to identify and overcome the same enemies in our lives today.

Taken from Joshua 11:1-4, Pastor Raphael preached on the combined enemy force that rose against Israel, in an attempt to derail the promise of God concerning the Promised Land. It is this type of an enemy, he explained, that afflicts and rises against the people of God, derailing them from obtaining what has been promised to them.

Perception

Saturday took us to another level, with Pastor Peter Kamau’s expository preaching on perception. How could two people, seeing the same thing, arrive at different conclusions? Taking his sermon from Numbers 13, Pastor Kamau exposed the struggle that every believer has to overcome to possess their promise- inferiority complex! The twelve spies all saw the fruitfulness of the land, the fortified cities and the people in the land.

But while the ten dwelt on the impossibility and the giant sized people, Caleb and Joshua focused on the suitability of the land and the possibility of occupation with God’s favour. We too have great opportunities in life, but our skewed perceptions limit what we achieve in life, and Pastor Kamau admonishes the saints to see life and themselves from God’s perspective.

Vision

The climax of the meeting could not have been better on Sunday, with Pastor Peter Kamau speaking on vision. Taking his text from Isaiah 6, Pastor Kamau spoke of King Uzzaiah’s influence in the lives of ordinary folk, such that when he died, life seemed to come to a standstill for most people. It is a common phenomenon, the Pastor continued, for folk to find themselves stuck in a rut of the past whilst God wants to do a new thing in their lives. Not until Isaiah looked up did he see God’s glorious dimension, a dimension the Apostle Paul says no ear has heard, no eye has seen nor has it entered the hearts of any man, the things that God has in store for his people.(1 Corinthians 2:9)

The Lord moved powerfully amongst his people, with creative miracles taking place during the ministration session. Scores received their healing, the prophetic word concerning peoples lives went forth, but most of all, the name of the Lord was glorified.

 A vote of thanks

A big thank you for all who came from all parts of the country to support us and wish us well. This would not have been a success without you all. Special thanks to all who were with us in prayer but could not make it- we cherish your prayerful thoughts. Most of all, all Enlightenment Ministries UK members who worked tirelessly to see this event was a success. Our hearts go out to you, and we celebrate you all. Indeed we know why God connected us together, to be co-workers in his vineyard so that his name may be glorified.

Shalom
